Role
Software Engineer (Global Storage)
As a Software Engineer in the Global Storage team you will design, build and maintain secure, scalable data ingestion and archiving solutions for structured and unstructured data. You will develop automated ETL pipelines and searchable archives to support decommissioned applications and regulatory requirements, working with business and technical stakeholders to test, document and continuously improve solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design and build ETL architectures to transfer structured and unstructured data into a Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) object store for archiving.
Develop bespoke archives to meet regulatory, compliance and business requirements.
Create a generic framework to ingest decommissioned application data into searchable archives.
Deliver secure, standard interfaces for searching archives.
Code, test, document and maintain standardized, automated data pipelines.
Help design and build infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading from diverse data sources.
Build analytics tools that leverage the data pipeline to generate actionable business insights.
Responsible for testing, documentation and handover to stakeholders; communicate progress and risks.
Required Skills & Experience
Must have:
In-depth experience developing Python or PowerShell scripts across Windows and Linux platforms.
Experience with at least one object-oriented language such as C#, JavaScript or .NET.
Experience with UI development, ideally using React.
Experience building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines and architectures for both structured and unstructured data.
Strong analytical skills working with large, disconnected datasets and transforming them into valuable outputs.
Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.
Desirable:
Experience with Ansible Automation Platform playbooks.
Working knowledge of MSSQL and Oracle databases.
Knowledge of Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) and Solr.
Familiarity with SIARD (Software Independent Archiving of Relational Databases).

- Furthermore, the candidate has to be available throughout the entire duration of the assignment

Gunningscriteria
- Language: English mandatory
- We are looking for a candidate with experience or a strong aptitude in a Data Engineering role
- In-depth experience of developing Python or PowerShell scripts across Windows and Linux platforms is a must
- Experience with at least one of these object-oriented languages: C#, JavaScript or .Net is a must
- Experience of UI development, ideally with React, is a must
- Experience with creating playbooks in Ansible Automation Platform is desirable
- Working knowledge and experience working with MSSQL and Oracle databases is desirable
- Knowledge of Hitachi Content Platform is desirable
- Knowledge of Solr is desirable
