Microsoft Fabric / Power BI Admin Engineer
Role summary
Help keep an enterprise analytics platform secure, reliable and performant. Manage the Microsoft Fabric / Power BI tenant, improve capacity performance, set workspace standards, automate recurring tasks and support teams resolving complex issues.
Key responsibilities
Maintain a well-organized and secure Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environment: tenant settings, workspaces, access and platform-wide controls.
Monitor and keep capacities healthy by tracking usage, resolving bottlenecks and improving performance, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
Simplify day-to-day platform operations through automation, reliable deployment processes, APIs and clear guidance for teams.
Contribute to platform roadmap, maintain security and compliance, manage gateways and resolve incidents.
Tasks and examples
Create monitoring to identify which data models, dataflows and refreshes consume the most capacity.
Translate usage, performance and cost data into practical platform improvements.
Automate routine administration and deployments using PowerShell, REST APIs, Azure DevOps and YAML pipelines.
Build dashboards and reports that provide clear insights into Fabric and Power Platform usage.
Candidate profile
Hands-on experience managing Power BI in a large organization.
Good understanding of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI Premium: capacity, governance and performance.
Experience with tenant settings, workspaces, gateways, security, monitoring and operational support.
Familiar with automation and deployment tools (PowerShell, REST APIs, Azure DevOps, YAML pipelines) and with creating operational dashboards.
Practical problem-solver who turns complex platform issues into clear, lasting solutions.
Collaborative, willing to share knowledge with engineers, architects, security specialists and business stakeholders.
Confident to take ownership and deliver independent improvements.
Working language: English (mandatory).
Candidates must already be based in the Netherlands at the time of application.
Practical information
Working hours: 36 hours per week.
Hybrid working according to the employer's remote-work principle.
Contract/engagement: Freelancers/ZZP are not allowed.
A pre-employment screening will be required and candidates may only start after successful completion.
Candidates must have a valid passport or ID that can be presented at intake and on contract start date.
